About Yuyo's Pizza & Mexican Kitchen

In the heart of Sitka, where ocean breezes weave stories with the whispering trees, there lies a gem of gastronomic delight: Yuyo's Pizza & Mexican Kitchen. Tucked away on 236 Lincoln St Suite 110, this charming venue serves up a tantalizing medley of Italian and Mexican cuisines that might just make someone question everything known about comfort food. Stepping inside, the warm, inviting ambiance sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience.

The menu is a delightful canvas painted with bold flavors and traditional recipes, offering a bit of everything for everyone. On any given day, the debate between a slice of their perfectly cheesy, thin-crust pizza and one of their robust, flavorful burritos becomes a pleasant dilemma. Whether leaning towards the sizzle of a savory taco or the rich, cheesy goodness of a pepperoni pizza, the decision-making process is enviably tempting. The beauty lies in its diversity: chipotle-seasoned chicken tacos cozy up next to a classic Margherita pizza, showcasing a fusion that respects both regions while uniquely combining them.

Perhaps what makes Yuyo's stand out is its enchanting ability to feel both familiar and adventurous at the same time. Reviews often highlight the welcoming staff whose friendliness can turn an ordinary meal into an occasion. Drawing from local opinions, frequent patrons often rave about the Taco Tuesday specials, suggesting it's a not-to-be-missed affair for those who appreciate layered flavors piling high on soft, warmed tortillas. Pizza Wednesday seems to be another crowd favorite, where the crust meets the perfect chew-bite balance paired with house-made sauces.

Sitka isn’t typically known for having a plethora of international dining options, yet Yuyo’s bold experimentation with Italian and Mexican items consistently redefines what local dining can offer. Having magic unfold with each bite is common here, whether it’s with the slow-cooked carnitas or the fresh basil on their pizza – this place doesn’t shy away from taking creative culinary risks. The location itself is another perk, offering diners lovely sights of Sitka that complement the vibrant dishes served.

Yuyo's Pizza & Mexican Kitchen positions itself as a melting pot of flavors, not just in cuisine but in the ambiance it provides: a cozy seat, delicious food, and a gentle reminder that sometimes the best things in life come in unconventional pairings. For those enticed by the idea of this culinary symphony, visiting Yuyo’s might just be the highlight of your Alaskan adventure.

4 Stars – Mexican Spot with Surprisingly Great Halibut Not sure if it was a daily special, but the halibut fish and chips was excellent, crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Since it’s a Mexican restaurant, they also served chips and salsa alongside the dish, which was an unexpected but pleasant touch. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food overall was very good. Just be prepared, as prices here are definitely on the high side.

Caught some King Salmon on a Charter and brought some in to these guys. They whipped us up the most amazing fish tacos with our fresh salmon. Bring your fresh caught fish here and have them work some magic with it! Definitely impressed. Ill be back soon.

Yuyo’s is a special little place in Sitka. Very tasty. Rey fast service. Great prices, for Sitka and the staff is very friendly and helpful. I ate in and had a couple plates which I really enjoyed. I have not tried the pizza but will return to do so. Thanks for being here Yuyo’s. You rock!!

Food was great here! I was a bit skeptical given the mix of menu choices, but my food was really good! Especially the salsa! I had a quesadilla with chips and salsa, nothing fancy, but enjoyed every bite. This restaurant is inside a storefront, then down the stairs and on the left down the hall a bit. Definitely not something you’d see or know to go to unless you’re googling places to eat. But I DO recommend it!

Super awesome pizza al pastor and Sonoran enchiladas followed by churros with salted caramel ice cream tonight. Chef Chazaq Luz Pinto Rodriguez is new here and is rocking this place 🙌 A few years ago I tried the place but didn't go back. It's been very inconsistent, I've heard, but they've found a good chef now. The food has greatly improved with a professional quality.
